Newly promoted Almería are joint second after a surprising 0-3 win at Deportivo, for whom Lotina was in charge for the first time. Coloccini misjudged a high pass from Bruno early on, allowing Negredo to put the visitors ahead in the eighteenth minute. And Soriano added a second before the break after good work by Negredo and Corona, Aouate keeping out his first effort but unable to do anything as a second shot rolled in slowly off the post.

Crusat made it three soon after the restart, leaving Lopo for dead before striking an angled shot past the keeper, and it could have been worse as Soriano hit the post later on, and substitute Kalu Uche also went close. Lotina brought on three fresh men but to no avail ,and he apologised to fans for the team's poor performance after the match. It can only get better.
