Murcia are proving to be one of the revelation sides in the early season, and they currently occupy sixth spot after drawing 1-1 with Atlético Madrid. Kun Agüero gave the visitors the lead in the opening minutes, picking up a pass from Seitaridis before running in to catch out Notario with a shot in off the near post. But after that Leo Franco was Atlético's best man, the keeper saving from Richi before the break, and Baiano, César Arzo and Regueiro all failing to beat him after the restart. However with ten minutes to go Gallardo collected a pass from Abel and drove an angled shot wide of Franco to keep up his side's unbeaten record. It was another blow for Javier Aguirre's side, who have not had this bad a start since the 1994/5 season.
