Getafe paid the price for their first ever appearance in Europe midweek with a 0-0 draw against Deportivo. Michael Laudrup's side had the better chances, with Cata Diaz heading wide early on and Casquero having a shot blocked. Depor finally tested Abbondanzieri with a header from Verdú shortly before half time, and Lopo volleyed wide minutes after the restart. Bodipo also had a strike ruled out for offside, and Casquero and Cotelo both failed to beat Aouate later on. The visitors had another point in the bag, and Getafe ended the weekend down in the relegation spots.
