Real Madrid held on to top spot with a 0-1 win over city neighbours Getafe on Sunday evening. The home side were unlucky not to take the lead before the break, Manu hitting the post and Casillas making a couple of important saves from Uche, although Raúl could have scored himself with a header at the other end.

Michael Laudrup's side created more chances after the break, Sergio Ramos blocking a shot from Nacho on the line with Casillas beaten, and Uche clipping another effort wide. Gago brought a good save out of Ustari though, and twenty minutes in to the second half Ramos turned in Robben's cross for what was to be the only goal of the game.

There was more action later on though, Casillas saving once again from Uche and Cata Díaz heading against the bar, and substitute Baptista hit the post at the other end shortly before the final whistle. Madrid had their first ever win in the Alfonso Pérez stadium though, and Getafe drop further down into the relegation spots.
