Racing Santander are up to eighth spot after a late 1-1 draw at Betis. Xisco hit the post for the locals early on, but otherwise the first half went the way of the visitors, with Smolarek going close a couple of time and Munitis shooting wide. Betis began the second half well though, Xisco trying his luck two or three times before opening the scoring after a defender could only head on a long throw.

Colsa should have equalised a few minutes later, and with a quarter of an hour to go referee Alvarez Izquierdo awarded a penalty to the visitors after Juanito brought down Smolarek, even though the foul appeared to take place outside of the area. Juanito was shown a second yellow card and had to go, but Jorge López fired the spot kick against the post. López made up for his miss with four minutes to go though, beating Ricardo at the second attempt for the equaliser, and Munitis could have won it for the Cantabrians when he headed wide in injury time.
