Getafe got their first league win of the season, beating Murcia 2-0 to take the pressure off coach Michael Laudrup. The match got off to a dull start, the only chance in the first half an Iván Alonso header which Abbondanzieri coped with capably.

Laudrup didn't wait to half time to make his first substitution, Kepa replacing Nacho, and De la Red came on as well at the start of the second half. Manu del Moral and Iván Alonso traded shots soon after the restart, but ten minutes later the two Getafe substitutes combined for Kepa to head the locals in front. It was blow for the visitors, and five minutes later Casquero cut through a demotivated defence to score a second.

It seemed to be all over, but Kepa threw his opponents a lifeline when he got himself sent off for kicking Mejía with a quarter of the match still to go. Regueiro hit the bar as Alcaraz urged his men forward, but the home side held on for that much needed win.
