Mallorca ended the weekend in seventh place, level with sixth placed Atlético on points after a 0-2 win at Recreativo. Güiza got them off to the best possible start, picking up a pass from Borja Valero to beat Sorrentino with just over a minute on the clock. And the striker was nightmare for the local defence for the rest of the first half.

Recre's only contribution before the break was a header from Sinama-Pongolle, but the French striker rattled the crossbar following a short free kick early in the second half. Tuni wrapped things up though with a long shot twelve minutes from the end, and Moyà did well to keep out a Gerard header near the final whistle. The Andalusians drop down to fifteenth spot after a third defeat without scoring in a row.
