Athletic Bilbao and Betis played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday evening which kept both in the lower reaches of the table. The best chances of the game fell to the Basque side before the break, Ricardo saving from a Gabilondo free kick and then tipping an Aduríz header on to the bar.

Aduríz had a couple more chances either side of half time, and Llorente came on later on to test the keeper a few minutes before the end, but otherwise they never looked like recording their first home win of the campaign.

The Andalusians hardly troubled Gorka Iraizoz all evening, but they at least came away with a point. They have however only one victory to their name all season, and have yet to win away from home. On this form, both look like having another long, hard year.
