Murcia move safely up to mid-table after a 1-0 win over Recreativo. Neither side had been able to score a goal throughout the month of October, and the first half was a dour battle between two packed midfields. Only a header from De Lucas which was blocked after Sorrentino had misjudged his jump, and an effort from Varela over the top, woke the crowd from their slumber.

But just a minute after the restart an effort from Baiano was turned onto the crossbar and over the top, and from Pablo García's resulting corner Regueiro headed the ball past the keeper. Víctor Muñoz threw on all his fire power, and although Beto and Javi Guerrero both headed over and Marquitos had a penalty appeal turned down, there was no way through. The Andalusians fell to their fourth defeat in a row, and they are now only two points above the relegation spots.
