Villarreal are back up to second after a 3-0 victory over a struggling Levante side who have only one point to their name after ten games. All the goals came in the first half, slack defending allowing Guille Franco to turn in Marcos Senna's free kick early on. Storari saved well from Angel, and Geijo and Riga missed chances at the other end before Rossi converted a penalty after Bruno brought down Cazorla in the area.

The action continued, Storari pushing a long shot from Senna on to the bar and Viera making a double save from Riga. An unmarked Franco headed a cross from Senna over the bar, and with seven minutes to go to the break Cygan headed his side's third from yet another Senna free kick.

After that the game was virtually over, and with a busy calendar to come Pellegrini slowed the pace down. Viera saved a Coutois free kick and Stoari responded with a block from Rossi, but otherwise there was little to talk about after the break. Villarreal were back up with the leaders and Levante's nightmare season continues, their one point and 3/23 goal record the worse start by anyone in La Liga for ten years. De Biasi needs a miracle to save this lot.
