Recreativo and Racing Santander drew 0-0 in a dull and at times physical match on Wednesday evening, referee Turienzo Alvarez showing nine yellow cards as well as turning down penalty appeals by Tchite and Sinama-Pongolle.

The Andalusians have now gone five matches without scoring, but at least this time they picked up a point which keeps them one above the relegation spots. They came up against an excellent keeper in Toño though, who made important saves from Camuñas and Martins either side of half time, and Beto, Sinama-Pongolle and Gerard late on.

Even so it was the visitors had the better chances, Tchite in particular missing a couple in the second half, and Sorrentino saving well from Smolarek later on. But they too settled for a point in the end which keeps them in ninth place in the table.
