Espanyol are beating the big teams this season but are failing against the smaller ones, and on Thursday night they were held to a 0-0 draw in Montjuic by Murcia. They can be encouraged though by the fact that De la Peña made his first start of the season after recovering from a long injury, and "El Pelat" showed some nice touches, putting through Valdo early on and floating in a free kick which Tamudo just turned wide.

Moisés Hurtado went close before the break and Chica hit the bar after the restart, but the visitors could have gone ahead when Zabaleta cleared off the line from Regueiro with the keeper beaten. In the end though a point apiece which takes Espanyol up to fifth and keeps Murcia in the top half of the table.
