Bottom club Levante produced the surprise of the day, their 3-0 victory over Almería finally getting their campaign on track after the worst start by a fist division side in over ten years. Riganò was the man who did the damage, a first half hat-trick doubling the number of goals his side had scored all season.

The Italian striker opened the scoring with only 14 seconds on the clock after running on to a pass from midfield, and for the next 30 minutes it was madness. Cobeño saved from Javi Fuego, Uche and Savio hit the post at either end and Riganò got his second of the night with a spectacular volley. Riganò hit the post again with an overhead kick, Storari saved from Crusat and Natalio shot wide. And with ten minutes to go to the break Riganò completed his hat-trick after Riga set him up.

Things calmed down after that, Storari making a couple of saves from Natalio and Negredo after the break, but nothing compared to the opening frenetic activity. But the important thing for Levante was that they had their first win, and they can now look to the future with more optimism.
