Atlético Madrid are back up to fifth after a last minute 4-3 win over Valladolid, the third home game in a row which involved seven goals. Maniche put the hosts into the lead in only the third minute, and they could have extended the lead when Butelle kept out a long shot from Maxi and Agüero put the follow up over the top.

The visitors had their chances as well though, in particular an effort from Llorente which Leo Franco saved, and with five minutes to go to half time they were level when Víctor picked up a return pass from Llorente to shoot wide of the keeper.

That opened the doors to more goals, and there were four in the first ten minutes or so of the second half. Sisi volleyed Valladolid ahead after the defence failed to clear Sesma's cross, Maxi equalised after Pernía set him up, Llorente restored the lead with a header from another Sesma cross and Maxi made it all square for the third time following a Reyes free kick, Butelle's claims that he was impeded being turned down by the referee.

With twenty minutes to go Atlético were left with ten men after right back Valera picked up a second booking, but they kept on going, Butelle keeping out Agüero and Maniche and García Calvo clearing off the line from Agüero. And with a draw seemingly on the cards the locals got a last gasp winner when Pedro López headed Forlán's cross into his own net. The Calderón stadium is not a place for the faint-hearted!
