Seven goals in Valencia in the highest scoring weekend of the season, bottom club Levante beating next to bottom Betis 4-3 to move to within four points of them in the table. The Andalusians got off to an electric start, Storari having to keep out a Juanito header before Arzu volleyed them into the lead in the ninth minute. And Edu put the visitors two up from the penalty spot midway through the first half after Bruno held on to Somoza in the area.

Levante came back though and with only five minutes of the second half gone they were in the lead. Tomassi started things off when he bustled past a sleepy defence and turned the ball back past Ricardo from a wide angle. And Riga got two more either side of half time, the first a header over the keeper and the second an impressive shot from outside of the area.

Pavone made it all square again two minutes later, but Javi Fuego curled the winner past Ricardo with ten minutes to go, and Betis ended in disarray after Juanito was sent off for bringing down Pedro León.
