Leaders Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw at Murcia, and could be off the top of the table by the end of the weekend as a result. Robinho got on the end of Guti's cross to head them into the lead in the eighth minute, the referee waving away claims for offside. Casillas was in action soon afterwards to keep out Baiano, but Van Nistelrooy thought he should have had a penalty when felled in the area before the break.

Just three minutes after the restart though De Lucas equalised with a diving header from Abel's corner, and Madrid were pushed back as Murcia came out looking to take the lead. Movilla, Richi and Abel all went close, and Schuster decided to make a double change with a quarter of an hour to go, bringing on Robben and Higuain.

Four minutes after that however Madrid were left with ten men when Guti was sent off for kicking out at César Arzo in retaliation, and Schuster pulled his men back to defend. Murcia substitute Goitom could have won it for his side had he been able to convert a couple of chances late on, and Abel also brought a late save out of Casillas. All eyes are now on Villarreal's match tomorrow.
