Mallorca stay in eighth spot after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Murcia. After a dull start, the Islanders fell behind when Iñigo volleyed a shot past Lux after an attempted clearance by Nunes was deflected into his path.

Güiza has had a busy week, with his first cap for Spain and becoming a father for the first time, and he was in an active mood, shooting just wide either side of half time and having a headed goal disallowed for offside.

Referee Velasco Carballo turned down a penalty appeal when Arango's shot his Iñigo on the arm at point blank range, but soon afterwards substitute Webó ran in to head Ibagaza's free kick down past Notario for the equaliser.

Before the game came to an end Velasco turned down a second penalty at the other end, booking Iñigo after he fell rather too easily under Lux's challenge. Munrcia had a point though, and they remained two above the relegation spots by the end of the weekend.
