Sevilla are gradually getting their act together after a bad start to the current league campaign, and they moved up into the top half of the table after a 3-0 win over Murcia. Luis Fabiano opened the scoring in the fourth minute after Navas set him up, the strike only half hitting a shot which bounced past Notario. And the Andalusians could have increased the lead before the break, with Kerzhakov volleying over and Duda heading another chance at the keeper.

Notario saved from Kerzhakov after the restart, but a few minutes later Sevilla were awarded a penalty after Peña brought down the Russian striker in the area, and Maresca converted the resulting spot kick. Baiano got one back for the visitors after a corner came across to him on the far post, but Luis Fabiano got his second of the night from another Navas cross with the game in injury time. The bad news for coach Manolo Jiménez though was a broken finger for Palop, who had to be replaced by De Sanctis late on.
