Valladolid and Sevilla failed to score in a freezing cold Nuevo Zorrilla stadium. Keepers Sergio Asenjo and De Sanctis had some work to do before the break, the former saving efforts from Luis Fabiano and Diego Capel early on and the latter keeping out a header from Jonathan Sesma.

Just a few minutes after half time the visitors were left with ten men after Fazio picked up a second booking. Even so Luis Fabiano managed to hit the post with a free kick, but with ten minutes to go he too was sent off after a clumsy challenge, and Manolo Jiménez pulled his men back to protect the point.

Right at the end Ogbeche could have won it after Llorente set him up, but Poulsen got to him in time to make sure he missed the target. A brave point for Sevilla, but not they ended the weekend in mid-table, the Champions League weighing heavily on their league form. Valladolid drop to seventeenth, only out of the bottom three thanks to having scored more goals than Betis to date.
