Racing Santander stay in sixth place in the table despite losing 2-1 at Murcia on Sunday evening. Both sides had chances in the first half, Notario saving a header from Smolarek early on and Toño keeping out a long free kick midway through the first half. But the Cantabrians went close either side of half time, De Coz almost turning Ayoze's cross into his own net shortly before the break, and Notario tipping a long shot over the bar immediately after the restart.

All the goals though came in the second half, with Goitom heading the home side into the lead after fellow substitute Regueiro lobbed the ball to him close to goal twelve minutes after the restart. Baiano and Regueiro could have increased the lead, but soon afterwards Smolarek headed home a Munitis corner to equalise. However Baiano got the winner from the penalty spot after Moratón cut out a high cross with his hand with a few minutes to go, keeping Lucas Alcaraz's side a point above the drop zone.
