Betis are still in the relegation zone despite a 0-0 draw at fellow strugglers Valladolid, the result keeping the home side ahead of their opponents on goal difference. The Andalusians' third choice keeper Casto did well to save from Marcos in the opening minutes, and Víctor could have scored a couple of times as the locals had the better of the first half.

But Rivas had a goal disallowed soon after the restart for a previous foul on Sergio Asenjo, and then brought a good save out of the young keeper a few minutes later. In the end though both sides settled for a point which maintained the status quo between them.
