Getafe rounded off what has surely been the best year in their history by beating Almería 0-2 on the last weekend before the Christmas break. Both sides had chances early on, Braulio missing a couple for the visitors and Negredo firing a spectacular volley against the post. But shortly before half time Licht got on the end of Manu's cross to poke the ball past Alves and open the scoring.

There were further close shaves after the restart, particularly from half time substitute Kalu Uche who missed a sitter and then saw another effort saved by Abbondanzieri. Alves tipped a long shot from Manu onto the crossbar at the other end, but soon afterwards the home side were left with ten men after referee Pérez Lasa showed a rather harsh second yellow card to Crusat. And a few minutes later Granero wrapped things up with a long free kick into the area which De la Red did his best to reach, the keeper put off by the midfielder's challenge allowing the ball to enter the net.
