Recreativo and Almería cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw which took both a little further away from the bottom three. The visitors could have scored in the opening minutes, Negredo heading wide after a shaky Sorrentino missed a long cross, and Mané volleying over a couple of minutes later. But it was the home side who went ahead when Sinama-Pongolle picked up a long pass from Javi Guerrero and held off two defenders before shooting past Diego Alves. Six minutes later though Sorrentino turned a vicious shot from Felipe Melo away for a corner, and Mané latched on to Cisma's kick to drive a spectacular shot into the top corner of the net.

The local keeper was lucky to be let off the hook soon afterwards when he slid out of the area with the ball in his hands, the referee giving him the benefit of the doubt. Cáceres fired a shot over the top before the break, and Bouzón cleared off the line from Juanma just minutes after the restart. After that the locals monopolized play, but Alves was superb in the visiting goal, keeping out a couple of efforts from Javi Guerrero and another from Sinama. A lively match, and a fair result in the end.
