Barcelona threw down the gauntlet to Real Madrid with a 4-0 win over Murcia on Saturday evening. The visitors had never won in the Nou Camp, and they fell behind when Gudjohnsen got on the end of Zambrotta's cross to beat Notario midway through the first half. An over-zealous linesman pulled up Henry and Xavi for non existent offsides, and then waved away Barça's appeals when Notario appeared to handle outside of his area. And Bojan and Eto'o both went close as the home side dominated the first half.

Valdés did have to make a couple of saves from De Lucas in the first half though, and he was called upon to stop Baiano soon after the restart. But a few minutes later Bojan got the second after a good run by Henry down the left wing. Notario did well to keep out Xavi and Eto'o, but Henry set up Eto'o for a third soon afterwards. And after Zambrotta hit the post, Eto'o wrapped things up with his second of the night from Giovani's cross three minutes from the end.
