Osasuna climbed out of the bottom three after a 2-0 win over Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao on a foggy night in Pamplona. The home side had the better of the first half, with referee Mejuto González turning down a penalty appeal by Juanfran and Carlos Vela bringing a good save out of Aranzubia.

Javi Martínez shot wide at the other end, but otherwise the visitors did little to impress, and they were left a man short when Yeste clashed with Miguel Flaño, Mejuto producing the red card after the defender fell theatrically to the ground clutching his head.

Both goals came in a two minute period soon afterwards, Dady curling a long free kick past Aranzubia and Carlos Vela running on to a long clearance from Ricardo, helped on by Dady, to fire a shot in off the post. Aitor Ocio had a late strike ruled out for a clear offside, but otherwise the game ended without further incident.
