2-0. 46. Xisco. Following up after Asenjo could only block Guardado shot.
3-0. 71. Guardado. Got on the end of Riki's cross to shoot low past Asenjo.
3-1. 84. Víctor. Long shot which deflected off Lopo to wrong foot Fabricio.

Deportivo moved to within two points of safety after a 3-1 win over Valladolid, their first victory in the Riazor stadium in 133 days. The mere presence of Valerón on the bench after a two year injury lay-off seemed to inspire the Galicians, and Lopo opened the scoring when he charged down Alvaro Rubio's clearance following an early Antonio Tomás corner.

With Guardado in full flow Depor took control, although they were unable to add to their scoreline and Fabricio had to be on his toes to keep out Llorente shortly before half time. A minute after the restart though Xisco made it two after Sergio Asenjo could only block an effort from Guardado, and Guardado himself got the third after latching on to a cross from Riki in a long breakaway.

A couple of minutes later Valladolid were left with ten men when keeper Asenjo was sent off for a second bookable offence, and with all three changes made Oscar Sánchez took over in goal. There was a standing ovation for both men as Valerón came on for Guardado, but they were unable to take advantage of the numerical superiority, and Víctor got a late consolation for the visitors with a shot which took a deflection off a defender and creeped inside Fabricio's near post.
