Barcelona caught up three points on leaders Real Madrid after a late 1-0 win over Osasuna on Sunday evening. Frank Rijkaard's side dominated the first half but they were unable to beat Ricardo and his defence, the keeper saving well from Henry and Bojan, and Monreal heading an effort from Iniesta off the line.

The visitors had hardly tested Valdés in the first half, but the keeper had to be on his toes to save a Sola header after the restart. New signing Astudillo came on for the second half and shot wide, and despite having ten corners to their opponents' none, Barça were getting bogged down in an ever increasing rainstorm.

As the clock ran on it looked as if Osasuna had done enough to save a point, but with two minutes to go a shot from Iniesta was deflected by a defender into the path of substitute Xavi, who drilled the ball into the net to win the game.
