Mallorca are proving to be the draw specialists this season, and once again they shared the points after Betis pegged them back to 1-1. Gregorio Manzano's side were by far the better of the two in the first half, with Güiza almost turning in a fierce cross from Ibagaza early on and Ballesteros firing a first time volley just wide of the post. Varela went close a couple of times and Ricardo kept out a chip from Ibagaza, and Arango also tried his luck with an angled shot shortly before the break.

The match continued in the same vein after the restart, Borja Valero heading wide and Güiza hitting the bar after Ricardo blocked another shot from the ex Real Madrid Castilla midfielder. And ten minutes in to the second half Varela finally beat the keeper with a shot inside the near post from outside of the area.

Up to that point Moyà had not been tested, Edu putting the only two chances for the visitors wide of the mark, but with twenty minutes to go the Brazilian forward got free from his marker to head Pavone's cross back past the keeper. It was enough to save a point, which keeps the Andalusians one behind their hosts, still only two points above the drop zone.
