Recreativo moved out of the relegation spots after a 4-2 victory over fellow strugglers Murcia. The Andalusians were still smarting after their 7-1 defeat at Mallorca the week before, and although Camuñas had a goal disallowed for offside in the first minute, they went behind when Goitom headed a cross a long free kick to allow De Lucas to turn the ball past Sorrentino.

Just four minutes later though Recre were level, Sinama-Pongolle getting on the end of Poli's cross to steer the ball past Carini between head and shoulder. And the keeper did well to prevent the French striker from getting his second with a good save before the break. Pablo García almost caught out Sorrentino with a wide free kick after the interval, but Sinama set up Marco Rubén for him to score a few minutes later, and then got a third for his side after Carini could only push Rubén's header on to the bar.

Things got worse for Javier Clemente's new side when César Arzo was sent off for a second bookable offence, but Iván Alonso pulled one back from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Cáceres. Marquitos wrapped things up however with a well taken fourth goal a couple of minutes from the end, beating the keeper with a shot from wide out which went in off the bar and the far post. One Recre had to win if they are to stay up, and Murcia lost one of the last lifelines they had remaining.
