Zaragoza are only just out of the bottom three thanks to superior goal difference over Recreativo after they lost 2-1 to fellow strugglers Valladolid. Zapater gave the visitors the lead on the half hour mark after Diego Milito headed across a centre from Oscar Valero, but Víctor equalised early in the second half with a hotly disputed penalty after Llorente fell under a challenge from Paredes. A few minutes later Llorente headed in Sesma's cross for what was to prove the winning goal, although the Maños could have saved a point had referee Lizondo Cortés not ruled out a late strike from Sergio García. Zaragoza's frustrations came to a boil at the end when Juanfran was sent off for kicking out at Capdevila in injury time.
