Getafe had one eye on next Thursday's UEFA Cup tie with Bayern Munich, and they suffered as a result, losing 0-2 to Osasuna. It was a physical game, Contra getting sent off for a foul on Monreal on the half hour mark, and referee Pérez Lasa showing yellow cards in abundance.

The home side created more chances in the first three minutes than the rest of the match, but after that Osasuna took control, with Juanfran bringing a couple of good saves out of Pato in the first half hour. And with five minutes to go to the break Miguel Flaño found enough space to head Puñal's long free kick past the keeper to open the scoring.

The rain started to come down heavily at half time, putting a dampener on things until midway through the second half, when Puñal got his side's second from the penalty spot after substitute Dady was tripped by Celestini.

After that Ziganda pulled his troops back, and although Granero fired a long free kick wide and Manu almost caught out Ricardo with a late effort, the result was never in doubt. A first away win in almost four months for the Pamplona based side, and they move to within two points of their opponents in the table.
