Racing Santander closed up on the Champions League spot after a 0-3 win at Espanyol on Sunday evening, and they are now level on points with fourth placed Atlético. Oscar Serrano and Munitis put the Cantabrians two up with only a quarter of the game gone, both times after Kameni could only push out shots from Jorge López and Duscher.

Tamudo brought a couple of good saves out of Toño and had a goal disallowed before the break, and the keeper stretched out a hand to push a shot from Moisés away from under the bar soon after the restart. Munitis hit the post at the other end a couple of minutes later, and Tamudo got past Oriol only to shoot over the top with the goal at his mercy.

The chances continued, Riera seeing another effort saved by Toño, and Duscher firing a long shot against the foot of the post, the ball spinning across goal and going out for a goal-kick at the other side. And in the third minute of injury time substitute Iván Bolado finished things off after Smolarek headed back Pinillos's cross, his "rabona" kick the first time anybody has scored that way in the history of La Liga.
