A hat-trick from Xisco helped Deportivo to a 3-1 victory over Murcia, taking the Galicians away from the danger zone and leaving Javier Clemente's side seven points away from safety. The visitors went in front in the first minute when De Lucas headed in a cross from Dani Aquino, but Xisco levelled the scores a few minutes later following a cross by Wilhelmsson. Lopo had a headed goal disallowed before the break, but Xisco got his second of the night just a minute after the restart, and completed his hat-trick a couple of minutes later. And it could have been more had Filipe not hit the bar with a free kick late on.
