Things are going from bad to worse for Zaragoza, and they currently occupy the third relegation spot after they lost 0-3 at home to Betis. Despite only one win in eight, the club managed to rally up a big crowd for this match against a direct rival. But the supporters turned on the players and directors at the end after another defeat, and there were scuffles outside the ground after the match.

Within a quarter of an hour the Maños were two down, Mark González heading the first past César early on and then cutting a swathe through the defence to make it two five minutes later. After that young keeper Casto put in a great performance for a clean sheet, in particular with top class saves from Matuzalem's free kick early in the second half, and from Diego Milito late on. And Pavone wrapped things up with a third goal which took his side safely up to mid-table.
