Bottom club Levante appear to be doomed this season, but they continued to put up a spirited fight-back despite their financial problems, and they kept their slim hopes of survival alive with a 0-1 victory at Betis. The first chance fell to the locals, Xisco heading against the post, but Casto had to make a couple of saves after that, and Courtois thought he had given his side the lead when his shot bounced off the bar over the line, referee Delgado Ferreiro failing to see it.

Odonkor rattled the bar again before the break, but soon after the restart Levante finally got the goal they deserved when Pedro León picked up long pass and turned cleverly past his marker before beating the keeper. Levante are still in the top flight for now, and Betis's run of three wins in a row has been brought to an end.
