Getafe's great season is starting to turn sour, and Michael Laudrup's side are now only four points above the drop zone after losing 3-1 to bottom club Levante. The elimination from the UEFA Cup followed by a second cup final defeat in successive years only a week later is starting to take it's toll, and they have now only picked up two points in their last five league games

The locals have even bigger problems though, with coach De Biasi abandoning the club to join Torino and the players and staff threatening a strike next week after several months without being paid. However they put all that behind them to clock up their second victory in a row.

The Valencia based side started well, Geijo bringing a couple of saves out of Pato before Juanma produced a run which was worthy of Messi's famous goal in last season's cup semi-final. Three minutes later Berson made it two with a shot which slipped through Pato's hands into the net, and Pedro León got the third a few minutes in to the second half, holding off a couple of defenders on a long run before clipping a shot past the keeper.

De la Red got a consolation penalty after Reina brought down Braulio, but it was nowhere near enough. Getafe are going to have to force their tired legs to do better if they are to avoid a long, hard end to the season.
