Six clubs are battling to avoid the last relegation spot, but one issue was resolved this weekend, Recreativo's 2-0 win over Levante meaning that the Valencia based side will be playing in the second division next season. The visiting players called off a threatened strike a day or so before the kick off after the club gave them guarantees about their back pay, but they were unable to continue their recent good run.

Recre themselves started the weekend in the bottom three, but they started with determination, and Sinama-Pongolle hit the bar with a cross-come-centre early on. It was Ersen Martin who did the damage though, the Turkish striker taking advantage of a first start to get on the end of Sinama's cross to open the scoring, and setting up Camuñas for the second later in the first half. The Andalusians climb out of the drop zone to the detriment of Zaragoza.
