Zaragoza find themselves back in the relegation zone despite a 1-1 at Espanyol, Recreativo's victory elsewhere leaving them once more in trouble. The Catalans themselves did enough in the first half of the season to avoid any problems, but after six games without a win the European spots are now dropping out of their reach.

There was little action in a dull first half, Riera firing a long shot wide and Gabi bringing a good save out of Kameni the only possible chances. Riera gave the locals the lead though with a centre-come-shot on the hour mark which caught César off his line, their first goal in over 500 minutes of play, and Luis García missed an easy chance to make it two. But the visitors were awarded a late penalty when Rufete blocked Zapater's free kick with his arm, and Oliveira stepped up to convert the kick and save a point for his side.
