Mallorca and Osasuna drew 1-1 on Sunday evening, the first point of the season for the locals and the second for the visitors. The Pamplona based side started well, Nekounam hitting the crossbar in the opening minutes, but with a quarter of an hour on the clock new signing Aduríz ran on to Mario Suárez's pass to turn a shot past Ricardo and open the scoring.

After that though Osasuna dominated, Moyà saving well from a Josetxo header and Monreal and Masoud (who replaced the injured Ezquerro) shooting wide. The two Iranians were a constant danger, Nekounam bringing a couple of good saves out of Moyà after the restart and Masoud going close again.

Aduríz had a couple of chances at the other end, but with six minutes to go Portillo levelled it on a quick breakaway, shooting wide of the keeper after running on to Plasil's cross. Mallorca's frustration was evident as Josemi was sent off for elbowing Portillo. It's going to be a long, hard season at the San Moix.
