Espanyol held on to top spot despite being held to a 1-1 draw in Montjuic by Getafe. With De la Peña out injured, Tintin Márquez changed his formation. And they started well, with Coro leading the attack down the right flank. Víctor Muñoz's side came back though later in the first half, Casquero firing a shot over the top and Kameni called upon to keep out Manu, Gavilán, Cata Díaz and Licht.

The visitors took the lead with a Manu penalty after Beranger fouled Guerrón in the second minute of the second half, but Sergio Sánchez scrambled home the equaliser ten minutes later after the defence failed to clear a Luis García free kick, the full back scoring from close up after Jacobo pushed the ball against the post. Coro could have put Espanyol in front when he rounded the keeper a few minutes later, but his shot from wide out was stopped by David Cortés. In the end though a fair result which leaves both teams unbeaten, and Getafe themselves move up to third pending Sunday's games.
