Honours were shared on Thursday night in the Nuevo Colombino stadium between the two oldest sides in the league, Recreativo Huelva and Athletic Bilbao. There were few chances in a dull and at times physical match, Llorente heading wide for the visitors midway through the first half, Ion Vélez bringing a good stop out of Riesgo soon afterwards, and Iraizoz doing well to save a couple of efforts from Javi Guerrero either side of half time.

Both coaches made changes after the break, and the new men added a bit of vitality to proceedings. With twenty minutes to go the locals took the lead, Javi Guerrero picking up a pass from Colunga to fire an angled shot past the keeper. But just four minutes later Athletic equalised, David López getting on the end of Yeste's cross to strike a first time volley (possibly meaning to cross?) which caught out Riesgo on the near post.

Recre almost won it in the dying moments though when Iraizoz pulled out the save of the night from Colunga. But in the end a point apiece which leaves both teams where they expect to end up, in the middle of the table.
