Málaga clocked up their first victory of the season after beating Valladolid 2-1. The two sides traded shots early on, Escudero and Ogbeche shooting just wide for the visitors and Adrián and Baha both heading over. But on the half hour mark Lolo drilled the goal in to the net following a corner to open the scoring, his side's first goal of the current campaign.

Baha hit the post after the interval, and a few minutes later a passing move between Baha, Duda and Eliseu ended with Adrián López turning the ball past Asenjo for the second. Twenty minutes in to the second half though Pedro León got one back for the visitors after Arnau blocked a shot from Medunjanin.

Apoño and Eliseu both had chances to increase the lead, but Vivar Dorado almost saved a point late on when he got free near to goal only to hit the outside of the post from a wide angle. Málaga won at last though to move out of the relegation spots, and their opponents have yet to pick up a point away from home this season.
