Getafe are within two points of the European spots after a late 0-1 win at Athletic Bilbao. The result was totally against the run of play though after the locals had failed to covert a hatful of chances.

Jacobo made first class saves from Yeste and Llorente, Gabilondo and Ion Vélez missed the target and Llorente had a goal disallowed by referee Fernández Borbolán for a dubious offside, all before the break. Vélez had a shot cleared and then missed a sitter either side of half time, and Jacobo made further saves after the restart, in particular from David López and Del Olmo.

Getafe had only had one or two clear cut efforts, principally from Soldado, but with three minutes left on the clock Casquero picked up the ball outside of the area and caught out Gorka with a magnificent chip in to the far top corner of the net. Athletic didn't know what had hit them!
