Lucas Alcaraz's return to the Colombino stadium signalled new hope for struggling Recreativo, and only an injury time goal prevented his side from an away victory at Valladolid in his first game in charge. The visitors started well, Aitor and Javi Guerrero both missing good chances before Marco Rubén ran on to Aitor's long ball to lob Asenjo and open the scoring on the stroke of half time.

Vivar Dorado shot over the top and Canobbio brought a good save out of Riesgo as the locals came out in the second half looking for the equaliser, but Aitor and Javi Guerrero both let their opponents off the hook once again. Pedro Léon fired another effort wide and Riesgo saved again from Canobbio, but with defeat staring the home side in the face, Víctor got on the end of Javi Baraja's cross to net a last minute equaliser.
