Getafe beat Valladolid 1-0 to record their first home victory of the season, although the win was enough to take them up to seventh in the table. Visiting keeper Asenjo had to be at his best to tip an early header from Albín over the bar, but with just over half an hour gone Cata Díaz got on the end of Granero's long free kick to head past the keeper, referee Ramírez Domínguez waving away appeals for offside.

Mendilibar's team hadn't picked up a point away from home all season, and their only real chance came close to the break when Cortés cleared off the line from young striker Kike, who had been given a first start ahead of some of his more experienced colleagues. After that though the locals could have extended their lead, Soldado, Casquero, Granero and Uche all failing to convert chances. The fans were not too happy with their performance, but Víctor Muñoz's team at least had their first win in the Alfonso Pérez stadium.
