Valencia beat Getafe 0-3 in the last match on Sunday evening to stay level with Real Madrid in third place. It was a lively match with both keepers in action early on, Renan saving from Albín and Polanski, and Pato keeping out a long shot from David Villa.

With just under half an hour gone though Manuel Fernandes latched on to Mata's pass to open the scoring for the visitors, and a few minutes later the locals were left with ten men when Soldado was shown a red card after a clash of heads with a theatrical Marchena.

Granero headed over at the start of the second half, and Joaquín had a goal disallowed at the other end for a borderline offside. The Spanish international winger didn't miss the next time around though, volleying a first time shot past Pato after a defender had headed up a cross.

That was enough to kill the game, but Vicente made sure with a third goal later on, picking up a pass from the right and beating a couple of defenders before steering a shot past the keeper. Valencia were back on track after their defeat against Racing last weekend, and Getafe drop down the table to eighth.
