Atlético Madrid drop a place to seventh after they were held to a 0-0 draw at bottom club Osasuna, who have still not won a game all season. Javier Aguirre decided to leave Diego Forlán on the bench at the start, but Agüero found himself all alone up front, and Roberto was hardly troubled in the first forty-five minutes.

Osasuna should have taken the lead though when they were awarded a penalty after Pernía tripped Juanfran, but Coupet (a late stand-in for Leo Franco, who was on paternity leave), dived low to save Portillo's spot kick.

The Pamplona side had only scored once in seven league games before this, and once again they were unable to find the net. Portillo had another shot saved and a defender blocked a shot from Nekounam, but to no avail.

Aguirre repented and brought on Forlán at the break, and the Uruguayan striker tested Roberto a couple of times soon after coming on. Maxi fired a shot wide as Atlético pushed forward, but Osasuna's defence is as good as their attack is bad, and the game inevitably ended without goals.
