Leaders Barcelona were held to a 1-1 draw by Getafe, ending a run of nine victories in a row in the league. The absence of Leo Messi, rested by Guardiola to allow him time to recover from an injury, proved vital as the Catalans dropped points for the first time since the second weekend of the season.
Visiting coach Víctor Muñoz has often caused problems for his old club, and his side went ahead in the twentieth minute when Manu del Moral picked up a ball outside of the area and beat Víctor Valdés with a shot from outside of the area. Albín brought a good save out of the local keeper later in the first half, but Abbondanzieri had to be at his best to push a shot from Sylvinho round the post, and Eto'o hit the bar with a long shot shortly before the break.
Guardiola changed a disappointing Hleb and Bojan soon after the restart, the youngster unable to hold back the tears as he sat on the bench. Albín fired a shot wide and then almost caught out Valdés with a long shot which the keeper spilled, but soon afterwards Keita headed the equaliser from a Dani Alves cross.
Piqué could have won it when Abbondanzieri pushed his header on to the bar following a corner, but Albín missed a late chance at the other end when he headed straight at Valdés. A good point for Getafe though, and Guardiola will be hoping that Messi will be fit again as soon as possible.
