Barcelona are six points clear at the top of the table after a convincing 4-0 over third placed Valencia. With Eto'o suspended Henry provided the goals, the French striker running on to a long ball to lob the keeper in the twentieth minute and adding a second a few minutes later after Hleb set him up. Xavi had already hit the post in the second minute, and Messi brought a good save out of Renan before the break as Guardiola's side totally dominated the first half.

Things continued in the same vein after the restart, Dani Alves picking up Xavi's through ball to score the third with many spectators still taking their seats. Villa was closed down by Valdés in a rare visitors attack, but Hleb should have increased the lead after Albiol let him through, Renan saving his shot. A few minutes later Henry completed his hat-trick after substitute Bojan ghosted past Maduro and Albiol and laid the ball in from the right, and Barça were home and dry. Next up Real Madrid!
