Seventh placed Deportivo lost ground on the leaders after a 3-0 defeat against Valladolid, who move up to within a point of the Galicians in the table. Mendilibar's side were two up at the break, Jonathan Sesma turning in a Pedro León cross and Pedro López collecting a long throw from Arzmendi on the half way line and lobbing a long shot back over the keeper, without doubt the goal of the weekend.

Canobbio came close to increasing the lead when he hit the post soon after the restart, and a few minutes later Pedro León did make it three after cutting in from the right wing and firing an angled shot over the head of the keeper. Riki had a goal disallowed for offside at the other end, but Valladolid continued to attack and Víctor and León could well have scored again had Aranzubia and his defence not been on their toes.
